Sete Cidades – half day

This tour takes 3 hours, and can be done in the morning or in the afternoon.
Depart from Ponta Delgada through the West toward the mountainous volcano crater of Sete Cidades with its beautiful lakes.
The Southwestern coast road will give you incredible sightseeing opportunities through fields of different shades of green accented by the typical Azorean cattle.
Arrival and stop at the Vista do Rei vantage point, one of the must-see points of the island, where you will have the best view of the Green and Blue Lakes and the gigantic crater surrounding them.
Return to Ponta Delgada by the Northeastern mountain road with a brief stop at Pico do Carvão, where you can see both coasts of the island. In the suburbs of Ponta Delgada, visit the Pineapple Plantations and learn how pineapples are grown in greenhouses. Here you will sample the delicious pineapple Liqueur.
Return to Ponta Delgada.

Lagoa do Fogo – half day

Departure can take place in the morning or in the afternoon, as the tour will take 3 hours.
Leave Ponta Delgada through the North to visit Ribeira Grande and surroundings. Take a brief stop at Ribeira Seca to see a Renaissance fountain, the only remnant of a 16th century village destroyed by the volcanic eruption of 1563.
Continue to Ribeira Grande, see all the architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries and visit the main town monuments.
Go through mountain roads to Lagoa do Fogo, north of Pico da Barrosa. Stop at the vantage point, get inspired by the Crater Lake and its shores, and gaze at the North coast and the sea in the South.
Come down the mountain toward the town of Lagoa and notice the mass of Sete Cidades in the distance and the ocean on both sides. Stop at Lagoa and visit the ceramics factory, where traditional pieces are manufactured.
Return to Ponta Delgada.

Sete Cidades – full day

Depart Ponta Delgada towards Sete Cidades.
You will go through Southwestern roads, by the coast, surrounded by immense green fields the cattle calls home. Stop at the famous vantage point of Vista do Rei – view of the King – a breathtaking view of the two Sete Cidades Lakes- the Green Lake and the Blue Lake – within the vast crater.
The tour continues through rural roads of rare beauty. You will notice both Northern and Southern coasts, including the mountainous mass toward the center of the island. Stop for a typical lunch at "Cavalo Branco" Restaurant in the area of Bretanha, once inhabited by fisherman of French descent.
After lunch, visit the pineapple plantations and greenhouses, where you will observe the various growth stages of this tropical fruit.
The tour ends with a sample tasting of pineapple liqueur. Return to the Hotel at the end of the day.

Furnas – full day

Depart from Ponta Delgada through the North toward the city of Ribeira Grande. Comfort stop and visit of Ribeira Grande, the second capital of the island.
On your way to Furnas, stop at vantage point Santa Iria, and see the Northern coast of the island, then stop and visit the Gorreana Tea Factory.
Stop to see the view from Pico do Ferro, where you can look at Furnas Valley, surrounded by rich vegetation: the town of Furnas sits on a crater and has a lake close-by.
Visit Furnas Valley, where you can witness volcanic activity as well as various mineral-medicinal cold and hot water springs. Have lunch at Terra Nostra Garden Hotel.
After lunch, visit the bucolic 19th century Terra Nostra Botanical Park and its 12.5 hectares (30 acres) with its endless variety of Plants and Trees from all corners of the world.
Return to Ponta Delgada via the south, going by Furnas Lake, Vila Franca do Campo (first Capital of the island) and Lagoa.

Lagoa do Fogo & Furnas – full day

Depart Ponta Delgada through the South toward Pico da Barrosa. When you almost reach the top, you will be able to see both coasts.
Stop at the top of the mountain and take in the incredible view. Come down through the North, stopping at the vantage point in Lagoa do Fogo and admire the beautiful and serene Lake with Nature surrounding it. Continue down towards the city of Ribeira Grande, on the water, where you can appreciate the Baroque Architecture of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Confort stop. You can view a great extension of the Northern Coast of the island at Miradouro de Santa Iria.
The tour continues to the Gorreana Tea Plantations, where you can see the terrace format of tea bushes. Go on to Achada das Furnas, a plateau of pasture. Then arrive at the vantage point of Pico do Ferro, where you can observe the largest and oldest volcanic crater on the island, with its Lake and Thermal Town of Furnas. This is one of the richest areas of water springs in the world with 22 different mineral and medicinal types of water. Go down into the town of Furnas and have lunch at the famous Terra Nostra Garden Hotel. Then stroll through the beautiful and romantic botanical gardens, and notice the variety of species from all over the globe. Weather permitting, you may be able to dip into the thermal iron hot water swimming pool in the Park.
From Terra Nostra Garden Hotel and still in Furnas Valley, continue to the Hot Springs, unique volcanic phenomena and one of the must-sees of the Azores Islands.
Return to Ponta Delgada, via Furnas Lake, Vila Franca (first Capital of the island) Água d'Alto and Pópulo Beaches.

Sete Cidades & Lagoa do Fogo – full day

Depart Ponta Delgada toward Lagoa, through the south. Climb Pico da Barrosa, and notice both coasts of the island.
Stop at vantage point of Lagoa do Fogo, on your way down to the northern capital - Ribeira Grande.
Comfort stop at Ribeira Grande. Continue west, going through Ribeira Seca, Rabo de Peixe, Calhetas and Fenais in the north.
Have lunch at a Restaurant in Capelas. Come back through the south toward Sete Cidades.
Stop at vantage point of Vista do Rei.
Return to Ponta Delgada through Pico do Carvão, with a vantage point stop where you can see both coasts.

Nordeste – full day

Depart in the morning from Ponta Delgada through the south. Stop at Vila Franca, the first capital of S. Miguel Island, and visit São Miguel Church, one of the oldest churches on the island, built in Gothic style with beautiful altar woodwork.
Continue tour; pass by Furnas towards Povoação, in the Southeast of the island, where the first Portuguese navigators came to shore. Visit seashore area.
Go to Ponta da Madrugada, one of the most pleasant view spots of the island, on the coastline.
Proceed to the town of Nordeste.
Have lunch at a local Restaurant. Continue through the various small towns inserted in nature, at the bottom of Pico da Vara, the highest mountain on the island.
Return through the north to Ponta Delgada at the end of the day.

Santa Maria – full day

Depart from Vila do Porto and visit the Church of São Pedro on the way to Lagoinhas.
Visit the center of Santa Bárbara and its Church.
From Santa Bárbara continu West to view São Lourenço Bay, the ex-libris of Santa Maria.
Continue to Santo Espirito, visit the Museum of Ethnography and the 16th century church, which history says was the location of the first mass in the Azores Islands.
Return to Vila do Porto passing through Almagreira.
Have lunch at a local Restaurant.
Brief visit of the airport's surrounding area towards Anjos, where Christopher Columbus attended mass in a chapel, still standing today.
Visit the key landmarks at Vila do Porto.

Terceira – half day

Depart Angra do Heroísmo in the morning or in the afternoon towards Monte Brasil, passing through the landmarks of Angra do Heroísmo, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Once you arrive at the top of Monte Brasil, you will be able to enjoy the most beautiful panoramic view of the city and surrounding areas.
The tour continues northeast through the shore line and its charming natural pools, made of lava rocks and interrupted by small and picturesque fishermen towns.
Stop at S. Sebastião, where the first settlers made home, and where you can visit one of the most characteristic "Impérios" (small chapel-like building) of the Holy Ghost and the Parish Church, an architectural example of the 15th century with its magnificent wall frescos.
Visit Praia da Vitória, a small city, where history is present throughout.
Return to Angra do Heroísmo via Serra do Cume, with another amazing panoramic view over Lajes and the ocean.
Stop in Biscoitos to visit the small wine museum and sample the local wine.Return to Angra do Heroísmo.

TERCEIRA – FULL DAY

Start the tour towards Monte Brasil, going by Angra do Heroísmo, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Stop at the vantage point of Pico das Cruzinhas, on top of Monte Brasil, the most beautiful panoramic view over Angra do Heroísmo and its surroundings. Continue east, through small settlements with its rural architecture in between green fields cocooned by low basalt walls.
Stop in S. Sebastião and visit the Parish Church, one of the oldest in the archipelago, in Gothic style with magnificent wall frescos. Nearby is an interesting "Império" (small church-like building), in the tradition of the Holy Ghost Festivities, a religious celebration in all islands of the Azores.
Have lunch at a local Restaurant.
Continue to Praia da Vitória for a stroll.
Depart inland, passing by Serra do Cume, another breathtaking panoramic view over Lajes and the ocean. Continue to Biscoitos, through the wild cattle used in the bull-chasing tradition of Terceira, which takes place in the town streets. Stop at Biscoitos for a visit to the Wine Museum and a Wine Tasting session.
Return to Angra do Heroísmo, at the end of the day.

Graciosa - full day

Depart from Santa Cruz towards Monte d'Ajuda. Stop there to admire the panoramic view over Santa Cruz. On the way, notice the windmills, the ex-libris of Graciosa Island and observe the vineyards, where wine and liqueur from Graciosa Island are produced, turning the landscape into one of the most charming Azorean islands.
Stop at Praia, a fisherman's village and at Carapacho, where the thermal waters are immersed in a magnificent backdrop.
The tour continues to Caldeira and Furna do Enxofre, a subterranean crater lake, a unique geological phenomenon in the world and one of the most interesting places in the Azores Islands.
Have lunch at Luz.
Continue to Guadalupe and Vitória to the north, and then return to Santa Cruz. Once in Santa Cruz, walk in town; visit the Parish Church, where you will see Flemish paintings and other artistic details.

S. JORGE – Full Day

Depart Velas toward the west - Ponta dos Rosais, visit the Forest Park and the Cheese Factory.
Go north and observe the panoramic view over the well-known Fajãs – small rocky platforms, a result of rock erosion, where settlements enjoy a microclimate.
Fajã do Ouvidor and Fajã dos Cubres are the main points of interest.
From Norte Pequeno, continue south towards Calheta. Stop for lunch.
Stop at Manadas to visit the beautiful Church of Sta. Bárbara, in Baroque style from the 18th century.
Go by Urzelina, where the church is buried under lava, due to the 1808 volcanic eruption. You will only be able to see its tower, surrounded by fruits trees and other vegetation.
Return to Velas and walk around to see the town's main points of interest.

Pico – full day

Leave Madalena through the north.
Stop at Arcos do Cachorro, an impressive group of marine caves, where the ocean is the maestro of a sound and color concerto.
Continue to the area of Mistérios, remains of old volcanic eruptions.
From S. Roque, the tour continues through an inland road, crossing the island to the south, where vegetation is exuberant - endemic cedar and laurel are the focal view.
Have lunch.
Visit the Whaling Museum.
On the way back to Madalena, stop and visit the Crafts Expo, the Cheese Factory and the Winery. Return to Madalena.

Capelinhos Volcano and Caldeira – half day
Depart Hotel through the center of Horta, known for its cosmopolitan marina, where sailors in their yachts come from all over the world in their transatlantic adventures.
Stop at vantage point of Espalamaca for an amazing view over Horta, its marina and surroundings. Pass by Largo Jaime de Melo, arrive at Caldeira, a large crater in the center of the island and one of the most beautiful views of Faial, also a nature reserve due to its flora.
Continue towards Capelinhos, the result of the 1957-8 volcanic eruption on the coast.
Return to Horta by the sea shore.

Capelinhos Volcano and Caldeira – full day

Depart Hotel through the center of Horta, known for its cosmopolitan marina, where sailors in their yachts come from all over the world in their transatlantic adventures.
Stop at vantage point of Espalamaca for an amazing view over Horta, its marina and surroundings.
Arrive at Caldeira, a large crater in the center of the island and one of the most beautiful views of Faial, also a nature reserve due to its flora.
Continue towards Capelinhos, the result of the 1957-8 volcanic eruption on the coast.
Have lunch at Varadouro, a thermal and leisure area, with its natural swimming pools.
Return to Horta by the sea shore, with a brief stop in Ponta Furada.

Flores – full day

Depart Santa Cruz towards the northeast of the Island and stop at the vantage point of Ponta dos Cedros.
Notice Corvo Island.
Continue and stop at Lajes.
Head southwest, stopping at Rocha dos Bordões, curious basalt formations, a unique landmark in the Azores Islands.
Have lunch in Santa Cruz.
Go to Fajãzinha and Fajã Grande, both towns at sea level.
Return through the Lakes, one of the most beautiful features of Flores, especially when the Hydrangeas are in bloom.
Return to Santa Cruz.
